What is commercial property?

Tuesday, March 03, 2009
Commercial property is a real estate property that is designed for use in specific types of business situations. Commercial property is involved in money making business and not used for actual production of goods. Real estate laws tend to draw a clear line between residential, industrial and commercial property. For example, a residential house is not considered a commercial property even if the home were rented out as part of a business venture. At the same time, an apartment building with multiple units of living space would be considered a proper commercial property. Research facilities are also considered as commercial property. Even doctor offices come in this category.
